Inspired by photojournalists since I was a child, I've always been in love with capturing real life and the wonder of how photos tell candid stories of what we experience.

 

I adapt to what every story needs, but stay true to this: photojournalism blended with fine art, showing the beauty and depth of this life we live in a way that's timeless, considered and sincere.

 

I want what's seen in my work to feel true, pure, organic — something we can cherish and enjoy as if we're right back in that moment again. That's what happens when photos hold meaning, heart, and feeling.

Based in South Africa, I've been holding a camera pretty much since childhood, and have been capturing weddings and life, making documentaries and art for over 10 years. I love working and celebrating with couples who love one another and love doing life together. I love building relationship and connection and cherishing what's unfolding. I'm not all about posing to get cookie-cutter photos. I'm looking out for the atmosphere, the fleeting moments around us and between loved ones — keeping each of us present in the moment and preserving that for all of us to remember with nostalgia and joy.

 

On a documentary side, it's exactly the same. If I'm not shooting weddings, I'm capturing everyday life with its in-between and special moments, looking at what light is doing, hearing people's stories and reflecting that with sensitivity and authenticity.

Along with photography, my work as a multidisciplinary communicator and creative director is where I bring together filmmaking, design, illustration, campaign design, content and brand strategy, journalism and storytelling. The power of sight, sound and touch in engaging hearts and minds always brings me back to seeing things in a fresh way, and deeply appreciating the profound impact and meaning an image or video piece can carry.

 

In the end, I'm a visual storyteller finding stories big and small, and I'd love to be part of telling yours.
